Teaching experience
Local Authority: Adult educational lifestyle courses for those who haven't cooked before to those who would like to learn more advanced dishes.
Local Community: Working in the local community within the family learning sector, to provide workshops and courses to help parents understand the importance of feeding their children and families a balanced nutritional diet on a budget.
Vulnerable Adults: Working with vulnerable adults who might be living in warden controlled accommodation, showing how to shop and cook dishes that are easy to make, nutritionally balanced and affordable. Showing that frozen foods, such as veg and fruit can be very useful and a great time saver. Also teaching how to prepare dishes from "left overs".
Weight Management: Teaching and supporting weight management programmes with an emphasis on portion control.
Regular weekly/monthly radio presentations for local radio stations where the topic is food, what's current, what's not, or the latest "in" food ingredients and how to use it.
Recipes are talked through during broadcast and are available to download from the radio station website giving the listener the opportunity to ring in with questions and requests for a particular dish.
A "live" in the studio session is always accompanied by the sound and sizzles of cooking as well as the presenters comments whilst tasting the dishes!
